2.0.31 Safe to install
Kenwood Smartphone Control is an application that allows you to operate and control your Android device from the touchscreen control panel of your Kenwood Multimedia/Navigation Receiver. This application requires that your Android device supports the Bluetooth HID Profile, HDMI, or MHL output.
- To connect your Android device to the Kenwood Multimedia/Navigation Receiver, you will need a HDMI-MHL conversion cable (KCA-MH100: sold separately).
- If you are using Samsung products, you will need a 5-pin to 11-pin micro USB adapter or HDMI adapter.
Functions:
- Apps Launcher: If your receiver supports the apps launcher function, you can launch apps that have been allowed to operate while driving from the launcher home screen. The following apps are examples of those that have been allowed to operate while driving: KENWOOD Music Control, TuneIn Radio, Waze. For other apps, you can only display the screen while driving.
- Tap and Drag Operation: You can operate tap or drag functions on your Android device from the touchscreen panel of the receiver. Note that multi-touch operation is not supported.
- HOME/BACK/TASK Buttons: HOME/BACK/TASK buttons will be displayed on the screen to operate your Android device, even if those buttons are not displayed. Additionally, you can minimize these buttons when they are not required and move their location by dragging. Note that these buttons are displayed only when the Android device is connected to the receiver via Bluetooth. However, there may be instances where these buttons are not displayed when using certain applications such as video software. When using the apps launcher function, HOME/BACK buttons are displayed while driving and HOME/HOME/BACK/TASK buttons are displayed while parked. To use the "OK Google" feature, you need to turn off the service of this app in the accessibility settings of your Android device. In this case, HOME/BACK/TASK buttons will be displayed but cannot be used.
- Screen fixed to Landscape mode display / Screen sleep function disabled: While your Android device is connected to the receiver, the screen will be fixed to landscape display mode and the screen sleep function will be automatically disabled. These settings will revert to their previous state once the Bluetooth connection with the receiver is disconnected. If an application does not support landscape mode, it will be displayed in portrait mode, and the operating range will adjust accordingly. Please note that disabling the screen sleep function during Bluetooth connection may increase battery consumption.
- Power Saving Setting (Allow Connection): If you turn off this setting, the battery consumption of your Android device will decrease when the Bluetooth connection with the receiver is disconnected. To reconnect to the receiver, you need to turn this setting back on manually.
